Our Process

When it comes to European mounts, we specialize in preparation of skulls by using dermestid beetles. Dermestid beetles provide an excellent way of preparing skulls and trophies for display. They are native to nearly every part of North America and are known as “nature’s clean-up crew.”

DIPT Hydrographics maintains a colony year-round to prepare trophies for European mount or simple display. Many taxidermists will boil skulls to remove meat and sinew; this process can damage bone structure, particularly the delicate bones in the nasal passage. Our process uses beetles that will quickly remove all material from the bone without damage.

Whether it is that white-tailed deer, bear, boar, or any other animal you take while enjoying the wonderful hunting Michigan has to offer, give us a call to prepare your trophy!
